Claire Inkson (Director)

Details  Claire is an award winning photographer and writer based in Omihi.

Claire has nearly 20 years business experience in the Hurunui, and has a passion for seeing Hurunui Events grow and flourish. As  a founding member of the AmberleyNZ promotion group, and with experience in organising large events in the district, Claire knows the importance of the relationship between business and events, and is keen to see that relationship strengthened so both can achieve maximum benefit.

Marie Black (Secretary)

Details  Events that showcase our beautiful District is my inspiration, its wonderful to be a team member for a community resource that supports existing and enables new events to flourish. 

Over my 25 years employment with the Plunket Society I organised many education forum’s for our district and have been part of the successful development of the “Refill your Cup” inspiration days held annually for women. I have been part of numerous events over the years, event managed 3 family weddings and assisted in the development of the iconic Hurunui Races and Gala day.

I am currently an elected councillor and Deputy Mayor to the Hurunui District Council.

Meg Macfarlane (Chairperson)

Details  Meg, who lives and farms northwest of Rotherham with husband Tom and sons Dan and Tim, has a background in rural business management. Over the years she has sat on several boards, including Plunket and Rotherham School, has been treasurer of the Amuri A & P Show for 8 years, is Finance Director of Amuri Health and treasurer of the Hurunui Garden Festival.

Having organised several events at her own property, Meg understands the importance of having freely available event management resources to help grow events in the Hurunui District.

Claudine Barnes (Treasurer)

Details  Claudine lives in the unique log chalet village of Mt Lyford with husband Ross and daughter Celine. Together they are owners/operators of Mt Lyford Holiday Homes.

Through the business they are involved in local events varying from weddings and special parties to corporate escapes. Claudine has also been the organiser of the Lodge-to-Lodge Half Marathon for 6 years and has co-organised multiple events around the Waiau area.

Her interest in showcasing and developing the local community has always been at the centre with her involvement in a raft of community groups.
